Protected bollards are the means for protecting pedestrians in urban cities. In Ljubljana there are stone protective bollards from up to 16 century, protecting houses of horse carriages. In 90’s they were largely erected to prevent from parking cars at sidewalks and even today many households in urban buildings decide to protect their parking spaces by erecting their own bollards. Knowing or not, the use of the design of bollards is also a reflective mirror of its society. In this way the application for the artist water fountain was without water in the art or fountain – with just a possible use of fog – and was bound to failure. But anyway visualibitity of programming of lifting bollards may still have the appearance of the water waving.
