The sculptural project Public Monuments: the Slovenian square, Kranj establishes dialogue between three authors of the younger middle generation and public monuments of the Slovenian sculptor Lojze Dolinar. The project is conceived as an ironic gesture of Zoran Srdić Janežič’s concept and intites twom more artists share similar principle: Jernej Mali and Andrej Štular.

The sculptural project was temporarily adjusted, and its formation lasted form 10 am to noon on Saturday, 15 October. The increasing theft, vandalism and other forms of destruction of natural and cultural inheritance resulted in a contemporary sculptural campaign to influence the awareness of individuals about the importance of cultural values. The sculptural project Public Monuments put perception of the monumental arrangements of Slovenian square in Kranj into perspective of its changes since independence of Slovenia: change in landscaping, cutting the base of the Revolution (which broke the integrity of the monument’s optical layout), presence  of a model of Kranj on the Slovenian market and the erection of scaffolding, stalls, ice rinks at various occasions, thereby ironically themselves statues start operating surplus.

Zoran Srdić Janežič in the duration of the sculpture project walked on the Area of  Slovenian square in the mask which bare similarities on Dolinar’s statue of the Revolution. At the same time postcard poster were sold – presenting a drawing where Dolinar statue head is cutted away in order to change with new. The author creates fictional imaginary broadly deconstructive image of Dolinar Public Monumet.

In the context of the sculptural project Public Monuments: the Slovenian square, Kranj on 10th of November was organized a round table on which the project presentation was  combined with a discussion of the importance of public monuments.
